Why our fund matters

This site has been established to promote the Ida Ballard Simon Memorial Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors that attended Memphis – Shelby County Schools (SCS).

Siblings and Friends of Ida Ballard Simon request your support with our mission to maintain Ida’s love for and influence in academia and her love to reach students needing scholarships and financial assistance to attend college. With your support, our collaborative efforts will continue to assist graduating senior(s) from Memphis – Shelby County Schools (SCS) public high schools to Ida’s under-graduate college alma mater –Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Over the past 14 years, with your help, the Ida Ballard Simon Scholarship Fund awarded 20 scholarships that assisted students in meeting their initial educational / career goals: 3 Full Ride Scholarships, 1 Palladium Scholarship, 5 Platinum Scholarships, and 11 Book /Travel Scholarships.
